Hyper-mixed using building is a unique phenomenoe in asia region especially in HK, Taiwan and Tokyo due to the high density of pupolation. Unrelated programs such as bookstore, restaurant, hair salon even residencial may be existed in single one building. These programs seemed completely indepent indeed they have its own hierarchy, but meanwhile their mechanic systems such as venting , AC system are overlapping and are not efficiency at all. In "Gongguan, micro mutation" I try to operate this project in a completely opposite track which is against this kind mixed building. In this project all the mechanic system have been separated from it original building and been assembled in this mutant tower. The tower become a cancer cell outside of the surrounding, meanwhile provide it's mechanic function for them. In the morphology aspect it reflect the cpllaging effect from its neighborhood. The outer sheel has been deformed by the surrounding and afected the inerior space, created dramatic concave and convex space inside.
This is my personal work which I used my private time for working on every weekend. Total Working Time- Around 2.5 months . I think it's time to get rid of this kind of ctberpunk style and the affection of HDA studio after this project.
