About C.K Chuang

Che-Kuang Chuang(莊澤光) is a Taiwan-based designer. He has received his bachelor degree in National Taipei University of Technology, Department of Architecture in 2011 and has finished his master degree in University of Applied Applied Arts Vienna in 2015. His works contain a wide range of architecture design, sculpture, illustration and conceptual design and has won many international and domestic art and design award, including IDA award, Muse Design award and Dadun Award. Che-Kuang Chuang has strong interests in computer generating forms and now he is a instructor of IXD Department in Taipei Tech. 藝術家莊澤光為維也納應用藝術大學(Universität für angewandte Kunst Wien)都市碩士、國立台北科技大學建築系學士，並具有高考及格建築師的身分，目前任教於國立台北科技大學互動設計系。他的創作著重於新媒體藝術、參數化設計與幾何造型，不論是其錄像、動畫或平面的創作，都與其空間、造型與結構性敘事的背景有著深刻的連結。本質上是個硬核建築人，曾任職於建築工程與設計業界並參與數個建築工程與室內設計專案，後於2021年回到學校任教。作品曾獲得 :屏東獎優選、大墩美展數位藝術類第二名、磺溪美展數位藝術類入選獎、桃源美展新媒體藝術類入選獎、臺東美展新媒體藝術類優選獎、苗栗美展新媒體藝術類第二名等全國性官辦美展獎項；以及包含 : IDA 設計大獎金獎、AMP 美國建築大師獎家具類佳作、K Design Award Winner與LAFA

Education Parallax / 教學視差

2024結構視差系列創作計畫是藝術家透過自身的人生參照，試圖模擬學生到教師、員工到雇主、人民至政府等看似上下對立、高牆兩邊的角色視角的對立相合，以此創作不同的觀點。在教學視差作品裡，敘事結構被分為三個層面：平面作品，代表了單一的觀看；雙頻道影像作品，呈現了同時的對照；VR 360作品，表現了超越的視角。所有的影像刻意去除了人物角色，純粹以空間、裝置與自白呈現第一人稱的敘事。作為建築專業背景的藝術家設計了一個由兩個三角形組成的教室空間：一者為順向，學生的臉被旋轉筆記本所取代，不斷來回奔波；教室的盡頭會看見倒掛在空中的教師像。一者為逆向，空間的終點懸掛著在籠中的老師，同學們則變為在座椅上的舞者，圍繞觀看著在籠中的師者。兩個截然不同的教室實際上是在同一個架構下，兩種角色既是觀看者也是被看者，既是受教者也是教育者，既是指引者也是徬徨者。透過平面的視角、動態的影像與空間的呈現，最後呈現超越兩者的觀點。 The 2024 Hierarchy Parallax series is an art project referencing the artist's own life experiences. The artist aims to simulate the seemingly opposing roles and perspectives, such as student to teacher, employee to employer, and citizen to government, creating different viewpoints that reconcile the contrasts. In the Education Parallax pieces, the narrative structure is divided into three levels: 2d graphics represent a singular viewpoint; dual-channel video works present simultaneous contrasting views ; VR 360 works convey a transcendent perspective.

Labor-Capital Parallax / 勞資視差

2024結構視差系列創作計畫是藝術家透過自身的人生參照，試圖模擬學生到教師、員工到雇主、人民至政府等看似上下對立、高牆兩邊的角色視角的對立相合，以此創作出不同的觀點。在勞資視差作品裡，敘事結構被分為三個層面：平面作品，代表了單一的觀看；雙頻道影像作品，呈現了同時的對照；VR 360作品，表現了超越的視角。所有的影像刻意去除了人物角色，純粹以空間、裝置與自白呈現第一人稱的敘事。建築專業背景的藝術家設計了一個由三個盒子組成的辦公空間，藉著空間的上下排序表現勞、資方的不同觀點與難處。位處於中、下層的勞動者不停的在桌椅、打字機堆成的階梯上下，持續著勞動工作的囚牢；而位於上層空間的經營者以上帝視角俯視中下層，但同時也被對外的炮火與內部的眼睛所攻擊著。作品透過空間結構與運鏡，表現出對立面的相同點:每個人既是自己職場的經營者，也是國家社會中的受雇者；既是員工，也是老闆。透過平面的視角、動態的影像與空間的呈現，最後呈現超越兩者的觀點。 The 2024 Structural Parallax Creative Project Series is an artistic endeavor where the artist, drawing from personal life experiences, attempts to simulate the contrasting yet complementary perspectives of seemingly opposing roles such as student-teacher, employee-employer, and citizen-government.
